Sky Tunnels for a roof light for dim rooms

Posted by admin on Nov 22, 2008

Having searched most of the internet looking for more info on Sky  tubes I have noticed Sky tubes can cost anything from £2xx to over £500+ then the cost of fitting too.

I then started asking people have they heard of a Sky tube/ Sun tunnel / Solar Light most have sort of said “yeah I know what you mean”. But when I then asked “do you know anyone who has had one installed?” everyone said “NO!”.

So i am wonder why not and roughly how many people do own one or have had them fitted. Supermarkets and offices have started using natural lighting using reflective mirrors to bounce the light from the roof around the building down to the ground floor.

The ideal room usually for a home to use a Sky Tube/ Sun Tunnel / Light pipe is a dark or dim hall way or an en-suite off a main bedroom with no windows.

The way energy prices are going it won’t be long until people do realise that free lighting will be worth a lot more in years to come.

Builders install Sky/Sun tubes/tunnels

Posted by admin on Aug 26, 2008

In every new home that has a hall way or en-suite builders should include a sky tube or sun tunnel as a standard feature.

This will be such a long term investment and great selling feature for homes.

Builders can dress them up how ever they want.

  • Sky dome
  • Sky tube
  • Sky tunnel
  • Sky light
  • light tunnel
  • light dome

How ever they do it it will be good news for dark unlit halls and save money for lighting in en-suites.

Roof lights to brighten your rooms

Sky Tubes/ Sky Tunels are a great source of natural light and can be an every day part of your living and working environment.

With new Sky Tunnels they can deliver more light than older traditional skylights with far more efficiency and at a much lower cost.

A Sky Tube saves on electric bills and won’t leak or present any of the cleaning problems associated with ordinary sky tunnels/tubes.
